Postage stamps actually sold but no value is mentioned in the stamp.

If this aspect is studied, we can find stamps right from 1847 onwards of various countries.

Few are illustrated.

In the modern day, this is issued in anticipation of change of postal rates so that the stamps matching new rates need not be printed, but the old stock can be sold at the new rates.

Some stationery are also issued like this in some countries.
